Balls!

We currently have all the Bronte sisters works in stock, so call in for the perfect winter read, and maybe grab a Thomas Hardy or two.....

One of my all time favorite book reviews would have to be from Graham's Lady Magazine (regarding Wuthering Heights) "How a human being could have attempted such a book as the present without committing suicide before he had finished a dozen chapters, is a mystery. It is a compound of vulgar depravity and unnatural horrors".  A review that would seem to have been written under  Rufus Griswolds watch, the man who described Walt Whitmans Leaves of Grass as "A mass of stupid filth". Griswold - A difficult man at the best of times.
